Till last year, one had to pay huge amounts for an Android phone. But now, with the increasing popularity and demand of Android, mobile companies have launched some cool budget Android phones. As a result, we can now get a decent Android, which is within our budget.

Lets have a look at 5 such phones, running on Android, but not carrying heavy price tags. These phones are under Rs. 10,000 -

1. Samsung Galaxy POP S5570

Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570

Samsung Galaxy is probably the best phone you’ll get under Rs. 10,000. It features a 3.2 inch touchscreen, running on Android 2.2 Froyo, powered by 600 MHz processor,  proximity sensor, compass, and a 3.15 MP camera. All this for about Rs. 9000/- , a great deal!

2. Huwaei IDEOS

This phone features a 2.8 inch capacitive touchscreen, 528 MHZ processor, Android 2.2 froyo, supports 3G, Wi-fi, GPS, and 3.2 MP camera.

It is available with TATA Docomo and Aircel for about Rs. 8500/-.

3. Spice MI-310

Spice MI-310

This is a new Android phone by Spice mobiles, an improvement over it’s predecessor. MI-300. It features a 3.1 inches touchscreen, running on Android 2.2 Froyo 3G, Wi-fi, microSD card, 2mP camera, GPS, bluetooth.

All these features for just Rs. 7500 /-.

4. Dell XCD 28

XCD 28 is a budget Android phone Dell, which features a 2.8 inches resistive touchscreen, running on Android 2.1, powered by 600 MHz processor, suports 3G, wi-fi, bluetooth, microSD card, and a 3.2 MP camera.

The main drawbacks of this phone are resistive touch, and an outdated OS. It will cost you around Rs. 7500.

5. Micromax Andro A60

Micromax Andro A60

This was Micromax’s first Android phone, is the cheapest Android phone out there. It comes with a 2.8 inch resistive touchscreen, running on Android 2.2 Froyo, powered by a 600 MHz processor, provides and 3G and wi-fi support, microSD card support, and a 3.2 MP camera.

This phone costs around Rs. 6800. The resistive touch is again a drawback. Also, there are complaints of it’s unresponsive touch. So, I would suggest to pay a little more, and get Spice MI or Dell XCD.
