How to jailbreak iOS 4.3.1 using Snowbreeze 2.5?

IH8 Snow has released Snowbreeze 2.5 for iOS 4.3.1. It allows an untethered jailbreak by creating a custom iOS firmware. Snowbreeeze works for Windows only.

Snowbreeze can be used to jailbreak these iOS devices -

• IPhone 3GS, iPhone 4
• IPod Touch 3G, IPod Touch 4G
• IPad
• Apple TV 2G

Follow these steps to jailbreak your  using Snowbreeze 2.5. The process proceeds in 2 different stages. First, to create a custom iOS device, and second to restore the iOS device using iTunes.

How to create custom iOS 4.3.1 firmware -

1. First you have to download and install Snowbreeze. You can download Snowbreeze 2.5 from here.

2.  Connect your iOS device to computer.

3. Launch Snowbreeze on your computer. Click Next (blue arrow), and then select your firmware, when asked to.

4. Your iOS device will now be detected and identified. CLick on the Next button.

5. You will be asked to select a mode. Choose Expert mode, it allows to add multi-touch gestures to your device. (If you rely on carrier unlock, then choose Baseband Preservation Mode).

6.  Snowbreeze will now create a custom 4.3.1 firmware.

7. Now follow the given instructions to enter your device into DFU mode.

How to restore the custom iOS using iTunes -

1. Open iTunes and click on the device icon in the left sidebar.

2. Click on Restore while holding the left Shift button.

3. Browse for the custom 4.3.1 IPSW file previously created with Snowbreeze 2.5 for 4.3.

4. Click on Open.  iTunes will now restore the already jailbroken 4.3.1 IPSW on your device.

5. Wait for the process to complete. And your iOS device has been jailbroken!
