Honor U8860 is a brand new smartphone by the Chinese electronic giant – Huawei. Honor U8860 is a smart looking device running Android Gingerbread and powered by 1400 MHz Snapdragon processor. It has a 8 MP camera capable of recording HD videos of quality 720p.

Design
Huawei Honor 8860 has a sleek and stunning design, with great finishing. It’s dimensions are 122 x 61.5 x 10.9 mm, and weighs 135 grams. The front side of the phone has a VGA camera at the top, and 4 touch keys at the bottom – home, menu, return, and search. There is a power button and a 3.5 mm jack at the top, and the volume controls are located at the left. The microUSB port is placed at the bottom. Howerver, no camera key has been provided.In all, the design and built of Honor 8860 is beautiful and different.
Display
Honor 8860 comes with a 4 inch LCD capacitive touchscreen display, with a screen resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. It provides a quite satisfactory pixel density of 245 pi, and the 16 million color support is enough. The display specifications are decent, but it could have been better.
Hardware
Honor 8860 is powered by a single core 1400 MHz Snapdragon S2 Qualcomm processor, and Adreno 205 graphics processor. There is 512 MB RAM, and 4 GB of ROM. Thes single core may not match the high end processors out there, but it is enough to provide seamless and smooth browsing and gaming experience.
It has 1 GB internal memory, which is quite low, but it can be extended upto 32 GB using a microSD/SDHC card. The overall performance of the device would be satisfactory, but not excellent due to average RAM and memory.Also, it may fail to deliver seamless multi-tasking due to the same reasons.
Operating System
Honor 8860 runs Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread OS, which can be upgraded to the latest version of Android – Android 4.0 ice Cream Sandwich. This gives you access to thousands of amazing games and apps on Google Play.
Camera
The device has a brilliant 8 MP primary camera, with LED flash, and features like auto focus, zoom, and high dynamic range mode. It lets you shoot HD videos of resolution 1280×720 pixels, and quality 720p@30 frames per second.
There is also a 2 MP front camera for video calling.
Battery
It’s 1900 mAh Li-ion battery provides quite good battery back up. It provides average talktime of 6.6 hours, and stand by time of upto 380 hours (15.8 days).
Connectivity
Honor 8860 supports GPRS, EDGE and 3G networks with HSPDA. It also provides support for GPS navigation with A-GPS. For connectivity, it provides bluetooth 2.1, wi-fi, microUSB and DLNA support. There is a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and 16 GB cloud storage too.

Final Verdict
The Huawei Honor 8860 has a good set of specifications, but it lacks a bit at some points, as already discussed. Plus, for a price tag of about Rs. 19,000/-, it is a bit overpriced. So, it has a low value for money in my opinion.
Another point is that Huawei is still new in the smartphone market. It is quite popular in low end devices, but it is yet to prove itself in the smartphone world. So, If you are spending this much, then I would suggest go for a more reliable brand such Samsung, which is offering quite good phones with similar specifications in this price range.
